Studio J Layouts

Not long ago I was "stuck" waiting in a airport for an entire day (about 11 hours to be exact). I'd been flown into a certain city for a job interview. The company had paid for a rental car for me as well as a flight. To save money (I'm sure and who can blame them) they sent me back on the red-eye, but I had to have the rental back by noon or pay for an extra day. So, I spent the day scrapbooking at the airport. How, you may ask? Studio J that's how!

I had my laptop and wifi, so I was ready to go. I love how these layouts came out and just had to share! I love paper scrapping too, but these really are beautiful. I wish you could see them in person. They look even better than online. There are several of the layouts I am going to add some paper and bling elements to, but most could stand on their own. Click on each layout for a larger view. The beauty of digital scrapping is you can also get copies of your work for friends or family. No re-creating layouts or entire scrapbooks.

Studio J is also awesome for your photo printing needs. See this post I made back in March of 2014 that details how you can get custom sized prints from Studio J as well as traditional sizes. Very economical, especially for all your odd sized prints.

Hope you are inspired!

Sparkle & Shine and Artbooking

I recently designed this layout using our Sparkle & Shine Paper, Glitter Paper and the Artbooking Cartridge. I just love the overlays that this cartridge produces! Can't wait to take some family photos to add to this layout.

Lots of great ideas in this episode. As usual I had some ideas for other projects that were not scrapbook related as well.

I haven't posted any creations in a bit. Here is a layout I created with Avonlea paper, the August stamp of the month, Baroque Borders and Artiste.

Here is a close up:

Hope you are enjoying some crafting this weekend!

Close to My Heart Footloose Layouts

I haven't posted many scrapbook layouts since I started blogging. I must confess this is partly because taking good pictures of layouts is a little more difficult. Reason two would be because I don't have pictures on all of the one's I've created yet and I always feel bad posting them unless they are complete. I think I'll have to get over that or my posts are going to be heavy to the side of cards and other items. I sat down with the dslr and  got these shots tonight. These are from the Footloose Workshop on the Go Kit only available until the end of the month. I love this paper! If you look at the kit versus my layouts you'll notice I didn't follow the picture layout exactly on either layout. I made the layout work for me (thank you Tim Gunn - - "Make it work!" Ü) and my pictures. This was one time when not matting pictures (which went against the grain for me I must confess) was to my advantage when placing photos. I hope this allows you all to think outside the box a bit when using premade layouts.
Happy Scrapping!

Exciting Close to My Heart Announcements & a Card

This is one of the cards from my Tuesday night workshop. I think it ended up being one of my favorites. It came together rather last minute, but I am happy with how it turned out. It is inspired by: http://octoberafternoon.typepad.com/october_afternoon/2011/06/thursday-sketch-with-stacey.html that a friend of mine pinned on Pinterest a while back. I was just waiting for the right inspiration to do it Close to My Heart style. :) If we hadn't been doing 5 other fairly complex cards I would have added real stitching to the process, but I think using the stamp set was just as effective and fun.

In other news: The annual Close to My Heart Convention started today in Dallas, Texas. Today was the reveal of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book to Consultants. You are going to be so excited! There is a new Cricut Cartridge collection called the Artiste Collection. The cartridge includes lots of 3-d items, home decor items, interactive cards and so much more -- 700 cuts in all. I already placed my order so I could have it to play with some for my Idea Book Launch party in August. Stay tuned for more details. Other news that sticks out include: A new consultant kit for $49 -- even more easy and economical to become a consultant if you have an interest, alcohol based markers, mini-pigment ink pad sets in all our colors and Workshop On The Go kits for cards and home decor items.

Look forward to sharing this with you over the coming days. Stay tuned for updates, workshops and new artwork. I should have the July 24th card class information posted by the end of the weekend.
Happy Krafting!

Close to My Heart Studio J Scrapbooking

This is one of my favorite recent layouts that I have done on Studio J of my nephew, Jacob and my great nephew, Noah. They both love each other equally and are so cute together! I got to see them when I visited my mom for Mother's Day. Noah is taking a few steps! It was nice to be able to buy a copy of this (and several other of my layouts) to give my mom for Mother's Day. While I love doing paper scrapping, I also love the ease of digital for giving copies to family and friends and sharing online. No need to re-invent the wheel!
